Position Summary:

MIR at Washington University School of Medicine, St Louis, MO, is recruiting a fellowship-trained Pediatric Radiologist to join the highly active Pediatric Radiology section. The Pediatric Radiologist will be a part of a dynamic and world-renowned team of 11 Pediatric Radiology faculty. Daytime, weeknight, and weekend shifts are available for faculty engagements.

The Pediatric Radiology section provides all the imaging services for St. Louis Children’s Hospital and is the largest pediatric radiology team in the region, performing more than 100,000 imaging exams annually. St Louis Children’s Hospital is a 390-bed tertiary care children’s hospital and is consistently ranked one of the best children’s hospitals in the country and #1 in Missouri. St. Louis Children’s Hospital is immediately contiguous with the 1,400-bed Barnes-Jewish Hospital, which offers state-of-the-art services including PET/MRI imaging. Imaging services are also provided at an outpatient Specialty Care Center in suburban St. Louis County. Washington University Physicians are the medical staff of Barnes-Jewish Hospital and St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

The School of Medicine is a world-class, academic medical center that is consistently ranked among the nation’s best medical schools. The Medical School and Radiology Department are ranked in the Top 5 in the U.S. in NIH funding. (MIR Radiology is ranked #2 in NIH funding by Blue Ridge Institute). Abundant translational research opportunities exist within the University. The Pediatric Radiology section offers a robust ACGME-accredited fellowship training program (2 fellows/year), in addition to providing training for radiology residents and medical students. Residents from the nationally recognized MIR radiology training program – the largest and top 4 program in the country rotate through the Pediatric Radiology section routinely.

Professional Qualifications:

The Pediatric Radiologist should have completed a pediatric radiology fellowship with an ABR CAQ in Pediatric Radiology or be CAQ eligible. Clinical excellence is required with an interest in resident education desirable. Although not a requirement, NIH funding or the potential for peer-reviewed funding is welcome. Academic accomplishments in the domains of clinical service, education, and/or research are key requisites.
