What Color Should You Wear at Your Next Interview?

Pick any color you want, but pick with extreme care because the shades you like and the colors you choose a portrayal of the real you. And this is something, which every interviewer is aware of it and uses it to gauge your personality.

A recent survey took responses from 2,099 recruitment managers and HR professionals. According to the results, black and blue are the best colors for an interview. Among the worst colors, most of the people gave orange as the response.

Generally, conservative and neutral colors are the best choice when you are meeting someone for the first time for professional purposes. What do all of these colors represent? Let’s take a deeper look.

Black for leadership and sophistication

Are you a great leader? You are right; this is a valuable strength which any employer can cash in on. But how do you tell them this? Wear black at your next interview and you will be perceived as capable of leading any team. And by the way, black also shows that sophisticated edge, representing you as a serious and apt candidate.

Blue for collaboration and trust

Can you easily work with teams? Are you trustable and do people confide in you? Wear blue and let the interviewer know that you can be trusted. A hiring manager told us that if you desperately want a job, you should wear blue to the interview, and there is a very good chance you will be hired.

Gray for analytical power

Are you analytical and can logically come up with a great solution to simplify any problem? Perfect, you are so wanted in the recruitment industry. Wear gray and your hiring manger will realize this. Gray also indicates isolation and a person who likes to work individually, but it also represents your intellect. And because of this, employers will want to hire you.

White for organization

White is a color which receives mixed perceptions from various hiring mangers. Some associate it with lack of self-confidence, whereas others take you to be extremely organized.

So the next time you go for an interview, carefully decide what color you want to wear.
