Plano, Texas, 4/14/10: The Dallas Business Journal has announced the recipients of its 2010 40 Under Forty Professional Leaders in Dallas award. Professionals honored at this event are shaping the future of Dallas through their business and community involvement. Kaye/Bassman International is proud to announce that Karen Schmidt has received this prestigious award.

As Kaye/Bassman’s Director of Training and Development, Karen oversees all training initiatives and ongoing career development organizationally. She is a frequent consultant with Next Level Recruiting Training (a Kaye/Bassman company) and is recognized as a visionary in the fields of growth, hiring, and training. She also serves as the Director of the Kaye/Bassman Foundation, responsible for all fundraising efforts supporting MDA and CITY House. Since its inception, the Foundation has donated nearly $900,000 to deserving charities.

Karen is considered a mentor to many at Kaye/Bassman. She works closely with new hires for their first six weeks at KBIC and serves as a coach and role model on a daily basis. She offers advice to new hires on how to effectively manage their managers, interact and build rapport within teams, and improve performance and time management. In short, Karen is the go-to person for a number of employees on a wide range of issues – both tactical and motivational.

Karen Schmidt has inspired a number of her co-workers by showing that the busiest person can often be the most successful. She is a shining example within our firm of what someone can accomplish with the right mix of work-ethic and desire.

Karen Schmidt is the Director of Training and Development for Kaye/Bassman and oversees all training initiatives and ongoing career development organizationally. She also serves as the Director of the Kaye/Bassman Foundation, responsible for all fundraising efforts supporting MDA and CITY House. When she joined Kaye/Bassman in 2001, Karen specialized in search and recruitment for clients in the Commercial Construction, Specialty Contractors, and Real Estate Development markets. She finished in the top five project staff in 2004 and 2005, and achieved the distinction of becoming a Pacesetter within the company. In 2006, Karen pioneered the redevelopment of Kaye/Bassman’s corporate training program. She is now exclusively responsible for the rookie training program as well as continued partner and associate development throughout the organization. This vital program covers a wide variety of topics from basic recruiting fundamentals, to effective marketing techniques, to more sophisticated curriculum for long-term development. From 2006 to 2008, the total cash-in for graduates of Kaye/Bassman’s new training program was over $4 million. Karen also works with Next Level Recruiting Training as a frequent consultant to leading search firm owners who need visionary advice on growth, hiring, and training. Karen graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas with a degree in General Business.
