Eric Dickerson

Managing Director & Sr. Practice Leader

Over his career, Eric Dickerson has completed a wide variety of academic medicine leadership searches ranging from Dean, Chair, Director and Chief. His background with quality and process improvement has allowed him to be extremely effective at each search he has accepted. Over his almost two decades at Kaye/Bassman, Eric and his team’s functional specialty areas included research, pediatrics, administrative, emergency medicine, graduate medical education, hematology/oncology, internal medicine, psychiatry and radiology.

Eric holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from The University of Texas at Arlington. His areas of study were in business management, psychology and communications. He is a certified trainer in Quality and uses this process to help improve customer service for clients ranging from hospitals to healthcare outsourcing and consulting. Eric has extensive experience with behavioral based interviewing techniques and has conducted numerous regional and national salary surveys. His experience in these areas provides each of his clients with enhanced screening and ensures a high level of cultural and functional fit for each selected candidate.

Before joining Kaye/Bassman, Eric held the position as President and CEO of a major non-profit organization. During the six years he was with this company, Eric led a 500% increase in revenue, 300% growth in customers served, and the expansion into 17 new locations.

After joining Kaye/Bassman, Eric was recognized as the first named Managing Partner in the firm in 2002, and in 2007, he was named as a Managing Director.  In addition, Eric serves as a Senior Practice Leader for Kaye/Bassman’s healthcare division and leads the charge in the dynamic and growing market of healthcare with primary focus on those hard-to-fill searches requiring unique specialty training and certifications.  Over the past decade, Eric’s specific focus has been in Academic Medicine and Higher Education, where there have been over 350 successfully completed searches for Deans, Chairs, Vice Chairs, Directors, Administrators and Faculty. In addition to single positions, he has help build or rebuild divisions, departments, and most recently, new medical schools.
