Infectious Disease Physician Description
The Department of Internal Medicine and Neurology, Division of Infectious Disease at Wright State University’s Boonshoft School of Medicine is seeking applicants to serve as a full-time Infectious Diseases Faculty. As an independent cost center, this is a unique opportunity to earn above average “private practice income” in an Academic setting.
Your Role as the Infectious Disease Physician:
The ideal candidate for this position will range from a new/recent graduate to an experienced physician with excellent knowledge and strong clinical skills interested in a career in academic medicine. The job entails both inpatient and outpatient clinical duties. Broad skills in Infectious Diseases are required.
The successful candidate will enjoy the variety of staffing, various busy, high acuity resident services (internal medicine, orthopedics, family medicine) and the Infectious Diseases Fellowship, as well as teaching/supervising residents, fellows, and medical students, and seeing patients in the faculty’s private office.

This position will be: 70% Clinical; 25% Teaching; and 5% Research.
The position will include opportunities to contribute in a variety of settings (public health, medical school curriculum, Infection Control, and Antibiotic Stewardship) if the candidate is interested. Strengths in teaching and clinical care are essential, and clinical research interests are encouraged, but not mandatory.
This person will function 100% of the time as a General Infectious Disease Faculty Member.
