Pediatric Nephrology Division Chief Description

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Florida College of Medicine (UFCOM) – Jacksonville is recruiting for a full-time Division Chief of Pediatric Nephrology. We are currently accepting applications for an Associate and/or Full Professor with fellowship training in Pediatric Nephrology.

The Division of Pediatric Nephrology provides a complete range of inpatient and outpatient pediatric nephrology services, including management of patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, plasmapheresis services, and renal replacement therapy (continuous renal replacement therapy, peritoneal dialysis, and hemodialysis – with and without ECMO). The Division operates innovative clinical programs including a large ambulatory blood pressure monitoring program, and participates in collaborative research studies. The Division currently has two (2) full-time faculty members who are supported by an RN educator and other ancillary clinical support staff.

Additionally, the Division of Pediatric Nephrology works in close collaboration with the UF Division of Pediatric Rheumatology, the Division of Pediatric Urology at Nemours Children’s Specialty Services, and the pediatric renal transplant program at UF Health Gainesville.

This Position Requires:

  • Fellowship training in Pediatric Nephrology
  • ABMS Board Certification in Pediatrics with a subspecialty in Pediatric Nephrology
  • Eligibility for unrestricted Florida Medical License and hospital credentialing
  • MD, DO or equivalent medical degree

The successful Pediatric Nephrology Division Chief will demonstrate a history of collaborative clinical practice; excellence in teaching residents, medical students, and other healthcare professionals; and a record of academic accomplishment with strong administrative and leadership experience.

Your Mission as the Division Chief, Pediatric Nephrology:

Reporting to the Department Chair of Pediatrics at the UFCOM – Jacksonville, the Chief of Pediatric Nephrology will lead the overall Division. H/She will collaborate closely with the clinical staff at UF Health Jacksonville and Wolfson Children’s Hospital, a 216-bed, free-standing children’s hospital located in downtown Jacksonville.
