Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) and its affiliate, CHI St. Luke’s Health — one of the largest health systems in the nation — is seeking a physician leader to serve as Program Director of a newly accredited Family Medicine Rural Training Track (RTT) Residency program. The residency will be based at CHI St. Luke’s Health-Memorial in Lufkin, TX. The hospital services a population of 500,000 in Angelina and Polk counties, with a larger secondary market in Cherokee, Houston, San Augustine, and Trinity counties. CHI St. Luke’s Health operates 105 hospitals in 19 states. Baylor College of Medicine offers 120, accredited residency and fellowship programs, including a robust Department of Family and Community Medicine with 170 faculty supporting residency and medical student education, clinical care, community service, and research across the Greater Houston community.
The Program Director of the Family Medicine RTT Residency program is responsible for the leadership, organization, operation, and general administration of the Family Medicine RTT Residency program sponsored by Baylor College of Medicine. Successful Candidate Should Have:
- The required specialty expertise, as well as documented educational and administrative abilities, to carry out the responsibilities of the role and to achieve the goals and objectives of the Family Medicine RTT Residency Program.
- Board Certification (current or eligible) by the American Board of Family Medicine, the American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine, or hold credentials deemed equivalent to Certification by the ACGME’s Family Medicine Residency Review Committee.
- At least three (3) years of educational and/or GME administrative experience.
- Unrestricted credentials within CHI St. Luke’s Health-Memorial and be licensed or eligible to practice medicine by the State of Texas.
