It’s Easier to Find a Job When You Have a Job

easy hardHate waking up for work every morning? Don’t like explaining to people what you do? We know exactly what it is like when you hate your job. So why do you feel this way about it? Is your boss a nightmare or are your coworkers a pain? Whatever the reason is, do you really want to quit? Is your reason good enough for this?

We can understand how tough it is for you to spend 8 hours at a place which you do not like, among people with whom you are not close and doing the same boring thing day after day. But we will still say quitting is not a solution. Until you have no other offer on the table, make no attempts to get rid of what you do have. The old adage holds true: It’s easier to find a job when you have a job.

Our advice: deal with it for now and you will get through. We know the fact that you have a job means you are better off than most others does not really convince you to stay, but it’s the truth and you have to accept it. Do you know there are places where the unemployment rate is as high as 25%? Do you still want to leave? What if you lose this one, and have trouble getting another one? There are so many people who have a shining resume, glistening with valuable skills and notable achievements, but despite this, they have no job to hold on to.

We are not saying that you should not quit. All we are saying is that now might not the right time to do it. Instead what you can do is search for another job, and once you get it, say goodbye to this one.

Search around for positions relevant to your profile, reach out to people, build you network, find references. Hopefully, you will get an interview call and might make it through the hiring process as well. Should that happen, you can quit this awful job.

In the meantime, while you are still stuck with this job, be glad that you at least have a steady income. Your employers may not be good, but they do pay you. And that should serve as a great compensation.

And good luck on your job search, we hope you will get an offer soon.
