Billion-dollar North Texas resort, lagoon will boast state’s largest fountain

lagoonNorth Texas will soon boast the “largest fountain” in the state as part of a billion-dollar luxury lagoon built on Lake Hubbard.

Miami-based company, Crystal Lagoons, will begin construction on April 26 in Rowlett. The 8-acre project, 15 miles south of Dallas, is part of Bayside Land Partner’s plans to create a mixed-used development on the waterway, according to a news release.

The lagoon is expected to be 25 times the size of an Olympic swimming pool and will be “ideal for sailing” and “stand-up paddle boarding,” the release said.

It is the company’s first Texas project and will be surrounded by a “world class resort.”

“In addition to offering beach life, the highlight of the Crystal Lagoon will be the largest fountain in Texas that will be home to daily and nightly live entertainment with shows featuring music, fire and more – open to the public,” according to Crystal Lagoons.

Kent Donahue, development partner for Bayside Land, said the opulent elements and surroundings will combine to “amaze” the public, in the release.

Crystal Lagoons said the future North Texas venture will join more than 300 other pools worldwide. They also mentioned 42 U.S. negotiations are in the works with the Rowlett project being the “centerpiece of several master planned communities in Houston, Austin and Galveston.”
