Senior Executive Leadership Job Description

Since 1965, we have served more than 3 million students.  Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD) is one of the largest community college systems in the state of Texas, which includes seven independently accredited colleges located around the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the operational leadership, design, development and strategic plan for the assigned areas of responsibility in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner.  Responsible for the day-to-day operation which includes managing committees and staff and developing business plans to accomplish the goals, mission and vision of the District.  Responsibilities include financial management, organizational development, staff management, and program operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads the development of corporate training plans and strategies in order to achieve organizational goals.  Understands marketplace needs and requirements to ensure that training solutions are developed and delivered that meet the client’s needs.  Ensures that all training materials and programs are compliant with DCCCD’s policies/procedures in addition to the laws and regulations governing the industry.  Keeps up-to-date, through professional development activities, on new technology and latest teaching techniques and applies knowledge to a corporate training environment.

Works closely with the client’s senior executives and departmental managers to align training goals with overall corporate and departmental objectives.  Uses results of assessments to create skills development and learning programs.  Creates training strategies by utilizing creative business solutions to align and drive business success.  Decides the best programs to train individuals to meet the needs of their organization and provides relevant feedback to client organization.

Establish and maintain credibility with diverse stakeholders and constituents as an effective developer of solutions that meet client’s business challenges towards achieving the goals and mission of their organization.  Improves the level of relationships, strategic partnerships and overall service between DCCCD and the business community as a premier provider of training services to corporate clients.  Builds, coaches and develops a management team that will execute on the stated goals of the organization.

Oversees the development and implementation of all organizational functions such as sales, marketing, service delivery, customer service, finance and regulatory compliance.  Accountable for financial oversight by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends to executive leadership and Board of Trustees.  Develops proactive, solution-oriented approaches to client’s needs that demonstrates flexibility, creativity and responsiveness.  Manages the training function to ensure that it meets DCCCD objectives and delivers a return on investment.

In a fast-paced, ever changing environment, utilizes excellent time management, problem solving and decision making skills to design and deliver training needs for corporate organizations.  Fosters diversity and utilizes excellent communication, presentation and public speaking skills to interact effectively with individuals internal/external to the DCCCD community network.  Provides exemplary customer service.

THE CANDIDATE

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Responsible for executing operating strategies and plans, manages staff, sustains the operational financial plan and oversees the administrative management of the organization(s).  Demonstrated success to effectively lead change and organizational growth through strategic planning.  Analyze strategies to move the organization forward, setting goals, evaluating the process and implementing improvements.

Demonstrated track record of success in an administrative leadership position overseeing the operations of an organization(s) or program(s).  Maintains a solid relationship with executive leadership, administrator, staff and students to achieve the goals of the organization cultivating a positive work environment.  Adheres to high ethical standards and follows and implements processes and procedures to comply with District guidelines.

Excellent analytical skills with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to think strategically and tactfully.  The ability to present concepts effectively and influence all levels of the organization and administration.  Evaluates options and actions based on trends and conditions in the environment, and the vision and values of the organization.

Attains results through critical thinking, problem-solving, planning, execution and continuous improvement of the organization.  Assess problems by identifying the cause, gathering, and analyzing relevant information, generating possible solutions, and resolving the problem in the best interest of the District.

Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Normal physical job functions performed within a standard office environment.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to individuals with physical challenges to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Master’s degree in related field plus four (4) – six (6) years of experience in related field including two (2) years of supervisory experience.  Valid driver’s license required for offsite travel.  Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.  Official transcripts are required.  ***Will be subject to criminal background and/or fingerprint check. ***

Manages a budget and supervises four (4) to six (6) employees.

Performs other duties as assigned.
