We are seeking talented and motivated Cardiothoracic Imaging Radiologist to join a growing Division!

UMass Memorial Medical Center (UMMMC), the clinical partner of the University of Massachusetts Medical School, is seeking an ABR-certified/eligible radiologist with fellowship training Cardiovascular and/or Thoracic Radiology to join the nationally recognized Division of Cardiothoracic Imaging in the Department of Radiology.

UMASS RADIOLOGY:

The Department of Radiology performs over 900,000 studies per year, across five hospitals and an outpatient imaging center in central Massachusetts. UMass Radiology offers the latest imaging technology: seven (7) MRIs, seven (7) CTs, including a Siemens Definition Flash CT and two (2) new Siemens 128 Definition Edge CTs. All UMass Radiology sites are fully integrated into the same PACS system (AGFA) and enterprise-wide EPIC EMR. The integration of the EPIC lung screening module and a lung screening navigator are underway. Additionally, the department trains five (5) residents per year (20 total), and nine (9) fellows.

The cardiovascular and thoracic case volume currently includes approximately 500+ cardiac MRIs, 1,000 Cardiac CT/CTA examinations, 49,000 Chest X-Rays, and 9,000 Chest CTs per year a level of experience that no other hospital in central Massachusetts can match. UMass’ highly specialized cardiovascular and thoracic imagers work closely with multidisciplinary teams in the hospital, allowing for numerous opportunities for clinical and research collaboration within the fastest growing research institution.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the UMass Division Chief, Cardiothoracic Imaging, Dr. Alexander Bankier, the Cardiothoracic Radiologist will be responsible for providing the full range of diagnostic examinations, as well as providing consultation to referring physicians across the UMass Memorial system.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • MD or DO degree, or equivalent degree.
  • Current Board Certification or Eligibility in Diagnostic Radiology (ABR certified).
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Cardio-Thoracic Fellowship training program is required.
  • Unrestricted State of Massachusetts Medical License (current or eligible).
  • Qualified to hold a faculty appointment in the Department of Radiology and an appointment to the Medical Staff at UMass Memorial Medical Center.
