Job Title: Corporate Safety Director

Summary of Responsibilities and Duties:
The EHS Director will have full responsibility for overseeing and implementing the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) and Loss Control Program. They will collaborate closely with senior leadership and Regional Safety Managers to ensure a safe and compliant work environment across all projects. The EHS Director will lead efforts to eliminate occupational injuries and illnesses, promote safety compliance, and foster a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
Essential Functions:
- Lead and demonstrate commitment to health and safety by example.
- Encourage a strong, effective, and ongoing effort to eliminate occupational injury and illness.
- Promote EHS culture among personnel through training and coaching.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, client mandates, and policies related to safe working conditions.
- Assist in the development of site-specific Job Hazard Analyses, Stormwater Management Plans, and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Programs.
- Conduct periodic inspections of active construction sites and facilitate inspections by governmental agencies related to safety.
- Identify areas of potential safety concern and incorporate appropriate control measures.
- Participate in the investigation of all serious accidents and occupational illnesses.
- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of company-owned vehicles and equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Update the EHS and Loss Control Program as necessary to comply with governmental mandates and OSHA requirements and provide subsequent training to all relevant employees.
- Develop and implement safety recognition programs to promote a safety culture.
- Compiled and distribute statistical data on occupational injury and illness experience.
- Oversee the Corporate Training Program in collaboration with the Corporate Training Manager to ensure employees obtain the necessary certifications and education to remain compliant with EHS policy and manage documentation.
- Continuously implement and improve the existing Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) program.
- Ensure proficiency in modern technology used in construction to be successful in this role.
