A nationally recognized design-build and construction firm is seeking an experienced General Superintendent to lead field operations on large-scale commercial projects throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth market. This role serves as the senior field leader responsible for project execution, safety, quality, scheduling, logistics, and the development of project teams. The ideal candidate is a proven builder with experience managing complex healthcare, mission critical, or large commercial projects while mentoring field staff and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership for field operations from mobilization through closeout.
- Direct Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and field personnel across one or multiple projects.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, site logistics plans, and sequencing strategies.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Lead coordination efforts between owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and project management teams.
- Drive proactive planning through pull planning, look-ahead schedules, and other lean construction methodologies.
- Oversee inspections, quality control processes, commissioning activities, and project turnover.
- Support preconstruction efforts by providing constructability input, logistics planning, and schedule development.
- Mentor and develop field leadership talent, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Identify and resolve field challenges while maintaining strong client relationships.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of commercial construction experience, including leadership of large, complex projects.
- Experience managing healthcare, mission critical/data center, or other technically demanding projects preferred.
- Strong knowledge of scheduling, site logistics, safety management, and quality control.
- Proven ability to lead large project teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
- Experience with construction technology platforms such as Procore, Bluebeam, Synchro, CMiC, or similar tools.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
