As we expand our Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs, we are excited to announce the launch of our ACGME-accredited Interventional Radiology Integrated Residency Program, sponsored by TidalHealth. We are seeking a visionary physician leader (MD, DO) to serve as our Interventional Radiology Integrated Residency Program Director in partnership with local physician practices and hospital clinical services. This is a unique opportunity to build and shape an innovative residency program from the ground-up, ensuring the next generation of Interventional Radiologists are well-equipped to serve diverse patient populations with excellence.

As the Interventional Radiology Integrated Residency Program Director, you will have the opportunity to lead and develop our brand-new residency program in Salisbury, MD. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in graduate medical education, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to advancing the field of Radiology. You will oversee the design, implementation, and management of the program, ensuring compliance with ACGME accreditation standards and fostering an environment that promotes learning, research, and clinical excellence. Responsibilities:
  • Designs, organizes, plans the program structure, and directs the brand-new Interventional Radiology Integrated Residency Program at TidalHealth.
  • Maintains current knowledge of and compliance with ACGME Institutional and Program Requirements.
  • Participates in Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC), subcommittees and task forces (including program representation at all GMEC meetings), and internal review panels as requested.
  • Curriculum development and oversees education and clinical care in all program-related patient care areas, as well as the organization of rotations, and other educational activities at all clinical sites that participate in the program.
  • Maintains active clinical practice in Interventional Radiology Integrated.
  • Recruits, interviews, and selects the Interventional Radiology Integrated Residents.
  • Submits reports on program, faculty, and resident performance to the GMEC as requested by the Chair of the GMEC.
  • Updates annually both program and resident records through the ACGME’s Accreditation Data System.
  • Ensures the implementation of fair policies, grievance procedures, and due process, as established by the GMEC, and in compliance with the ACGME Institutional Requirements.
  • Prepares an accurate statistical and narrative description of the program as requested by the Review Committee of the ACGME.
  • Prepares for and participates in the on-site program reviews.
Position Requirements:

  • Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Training: Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Diagnostic Radiology, followed by a fellowship in Interventional Radiology.
  • Licensure: Board certification by American Board of Radiology (ABR) in Interventional Radiology and Diagnostic Radiology; Or in Diagnostic Radiology with subspecialty certification in Vascular and Interventional Radiology.
  • Active medical licensure in Maryland or eligibility for licensure.
  • Experience: Clinically practicing physician with evidence of periodic updates of knowledge and skills to discharge the roles and responsibilities for teaching, supervision, and formal evaluation of residents.
  • Other: Eligible for unrestricted Medical Staff Privileges at TidalHealth.
Experience & Skills:
  • At least three (3) years of documented educational and/or administrative experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the requirements for enduring accreditation as an ACGME-accredited program in Interventional Radiology Integrated.
  • A skilled clinician who prioritizes patient-centered care.
  • The understanding and ability to teach as measured by the success of the residents that they have trained.
  • Demonstration of professional behaviors that allow the Program Director to serve as a role model.
