A successful, growing medical device startup is adding a newly created marketing role to their team. They have an innovative surgical product portfolio that treats a common and painful condition with 97% efficacy. It has already been successfully used in over 10,000 cases. They have positive feedback from physicians and adoption is growing because of this differentiated technology. They recently closed a successful funding round that will support expanded product launch activities, commercial team growth and product development. This is a high-visibility role that will drive the launch and ongoing adoption for these products.

The Opportunity:
In this newly created Marketing Manager role, you will develop HCP marketing strategies and implement programs to drive adoption and grow the market. You’ll develop messaging from clinical data and translate it into marketing programs and content. You’ll work closely with Sales leaders to identify gaps and opportunities for differentiated messaging. You’ll oversee creation of collateral, presentations and sales tools and a manage supporting agencies. You’ll educate customers and the sales team on the portfolio’s benefits and features. You’ll own both strategy and tactics for the portfolio, this is a high visibility assignment in the company and in the industry.

Strong presentation skills and executive presence are a must for this position, you will be routinely presenting to executive leadership. The team is small, the startup culture is fast-paced and there’s much to define. If you enjoy building and expanding marketing programs with a broad influence, this role is a good fit for you. You will partner closely with leadership as you. You’ll work in cross-functional teams with marketing, sales, medical affairs, regulatory and other departments.

The company is headquartered in the Bay Area, but the role is remote and can be done from any US location. Travel is estimated at 30%.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of commercial marketing experience in the med device industry
  • Experience with messaging, positioning and collateral development
  • Track record of translating clinical data into compelling messaging
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced startup environment
  • A bachelor’s degree or better is required, MBA is preferred

Their compensation package includes a competitive base salary and annual target bonus. The annual base salary range offered for this position at the start of employment is anticipated to be between $135,000-$165,000 per year DOE.
