Company

Our client is a clinical-stage biotechnology company built around a portfolio of investigational therapies for cancer and rare diseases, with several programs progressing through mid- and late-stage development. The company has distinguished itself with a novel, cell-based approach to a genitourinary oncology indication alongside a rare pediatric condition — a differentiated combination not many peers at this stage can claim. It has also been recognized as a top employer within the biotech industry for its culture and growth trajectory.

The Role They Will Play

As a field-based Medical Science Liaison, you’ll serve as the scientific and clinical bridge between the company and the healthcare community across an assigned Western U.S. territory. You’ll build relationships with key opinion leaders, support clinical trial execution, and deliver balanced, evidence-based scientific exchange to hospital and institutional stakeholders. This role sits within a newly expanded, highly collaborative field medical team at a company still building out its MSL function — offering a level of visibility and influence over strategy uncommon in more established organizations. For a driven scientific professional, it’s a chance to help shape a field medical function from the ground up while building toward broader Medical Affairs leadership.

Background Profile

We’re looking for an experienced, entrepreneurial field medical professional who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment. Candidates should bring:

  • Expertise in oncology and rare disease medical affairs, ideally with additional exposure to hematology, urology, or bladder/prostate cancer.
  • 5+ years’ experience in biotech or pharmaceutical Medical Affairs, including 3+ years’ experience in a dedicated MSL role.
  • Exposure to hospital, institutional, or clinical/pharmacy practice settings.
  • Working knowledge of clinical trial support, KOL engagement, and territory planning.
  • Advanced clinical or scientific degree (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MD/DO, NP, PA, or RN) or equivalent professional credential — a terminal degree is not strictly required where equivalent field experience exists.

Territory & Compensation

  • Territory: Arizona, Nevada, and Utah — candidate must reside within the territory.
  • Additional compensation: incentive bonus, equity compensation, and a monthly car allowance.
  • Benefits: medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, commuter and fertility benefits, and generous PTO.
  • Travel: up to approximately 50–60%, including some weekend medical congress obligations.
