Responsibilities:
Designs, organizes, plans the program structure, and directs the brand-new Neurology Residency Program at TidalHealth. Maintains current knowledge of and compliance with ACGME Institutional and Program Requirements. Participates in Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC), subcommittees and task forces (including program representation at all GMEC meetings), and internal review panels as requested. Curriculum development and oversees education and clinical care in all program-related patient care areas, as well as the organization of rotations, and other educational activities at all clinical sites that participate in the program. Maintains active clinical practice in Neurology. Recruits, interviews, and selects the Neurology Residents. Submits reports on program, faculty, and resident performance to the GMEC as requested by the Chair of the GMEC. Updates annually both program and resident records through the ACGME’s Accreditation Data System. Ensures the implementation of fair policies, grievance procedures, and due process, as established by the GMEC, and in compliance with the ACGME Institutional Requirements. Prepares an accurate statistical and narrative description of the program as requested by the Review Committee of the ACGME. Prepares for and participates in the on-site program reviews.
Position Requirements:
Medical Physician (MD or DO degree). Clinically practicing physician with current board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry (AOBNP). Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Maryland. Eligible for unrestricted Medical Staff Privileges at TidalHealth.
Experience:
At least three (3) years of documented educational and/or administrative experience. A history of ongoing academic achievements in Neurology (scholarly activity), including publications, the development of educational programs, or the conduct of research, consistent with ACGME guidelines. Knowledge and understanding of the requirements for enduring accreditation as an ACGME-accredited program in Neurology. Ability to administer, plan, direct, coordinate and supervise a residency training program. Knowledge of medical education policies and procedures preferred. Special expertise in any of the disciplines related to neurology preferred: -
