Position Summary
Join the inaugural Ascension Seton OB Hospitalist Program and enjoy a shift-based lifestyle in one of the nation’s fastest-growing regions. As Ascension Seton prepares to open its new Women’s Hospital, the health system is establishing a dedicated Obstetric Hospitalist Program to enhance patient safety, continuity of care, and patient satisfaction through 24/7 onsite obstetric coverage.
The OB Hospitalist will provide around-the-clock inpatient obstetric care, labor and delivery support, emergency obstetric services, and inpatient consultations. Ideal candidates are board-certified or board-eligible OB/GYN physicians who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to evidence-based care.
Position Highlights
- Three initial practice sites: Ascension Seton Women’s Hospital (Austin), Ascension Seton Medical Center Williamson (Round Rock), and Dell Children’s Medical Center Special Delivery Unit (Austin).
- Future expansion planned to Ascension Seton Hays (Kyle, TX) and Ascension Seton Cedar Park (Cedar Park, TX).
- Flexible scheduling with 12- or 24-hour shifts.
- Coverage expectations include dedicated service across participating hospitals.
- Compensation based on patient acuity and practice location.
- Epic/ Cerner EMR environment.
- Professional liability coverage with tail coverage provided.
- Opportunity to help shape workflows, culture, and growth of a flagship women’s health program.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Obstetrics & Gynecology residency.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible by ABOG.
- Eligible for Texas medical licensure and DEA registration by start date.
- Prior OB Hospitalist or high-acuity obstetrics experience preferred, but not required.
