A respected commercial interiors contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead corporate interior construction projects from initial client engagement through project closeout. This individual will serve as the primary point of accountability throughout the entire project lifecycle, including estimating, preconstruction, procurement, construction execution, and client management.

This role requires someone who can successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Preconstruction & Estimating

  • Lead project pursuits from initial opportunity through contract execution.
  • Prepare conceptual, schematic, and detailed cost estimates for tenant improvement and corporate interior projects.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and develop comprehensive project budgets.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing.
  • Conduct scope reviews and identify potential gaps, risks, and value engineering opportunities.
  • Participate in design development meetings with clients, architects, engineers, and consultants.
  • Develop preliminary schedules and logistics plans during preconstruction.
  • Assist in negotiating contracts, proposals, and change orders.
  • Provide constructability reviews and budget guidance throughout the design process.

Project Management

  • Manage projects from award through final completion and occupancy.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasting reports.
  • Lead project kickoff meetings and establish project execution strategies.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and internal project teams.
  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and project documentation.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively resolve issues affecting schedule, budget, or quality.
  • Administer owner contracts and subcontract agreements.
  • Manage project procurement activities and long-lead material tracking.
  • Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with all stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely processing of pay applications, change orders, and project financial reporting.

Client & Team Leadership

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, brokers, property managers, and consultants.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and create a positive project experience.
  • Collaborate closely with field supervision to ensure successful project execution.
  • Mentor and support Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and other team members.
  • Participate in business development and repeat-client relationship efforts.

Quality & Safety

  • Partner with field teams to maintain high standards of quality and craftsmanship.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, and safety requirements.
  • Conduct regular project reviews to identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Support a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of project management experience within commercial construction.
  • Experience managing corporate interiors, tenant improvements, office renovations, and workplace construction projects.
  • Proven experience performing estimating and preconstruction responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods, project scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and client relationship skills.
  • Proficiency with construction management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and estimating platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and successfully deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
