Position: The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to design, develop, and optimize advanced beam delivery systems for fiber-based laser solutions. This role encompasses the entire project lifecycle, including initial design, lab debugging, system integration, and comprehensive testing to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently drive the entire lifecycle of new schematic capture/board design utilizing OrCad and development, including FPGA design, while also supporting existing products.
  • Manage projects, create detailed specifications, and document new designs to ensure clarity and consistency.
  • Provide support for manufacturing tests, calibration, and system debugging.
  • Assist in the process of obtaining compliance certifications for new and existing products.
  • Estimate project timelines, and implement designs, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality, production-ready boards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (EE, Physics, or related field).
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, including schematic design and FPGA RTL design with Verilog.
  • Proficient in schematic tools like OrCAD; familiarity with PCB design tools.
  • Experience in ModelSim and Quartus.
  • Proven ability to independently design and develop high-quality electronic boards.
  • Experience in areas such as analog design, control systems, DSP, or high-efficiency power supplies is a plus.
  • Knowledge external interfaces I2C, SPI, QSPI.
  • Some experience with Clock Domain Crossing (CDC)
  • Experience with hardware bring-up using tools like Signal Tap and oscilloscopes and other lab equipment.
  • Proficient in version control tools such as Git and SVN.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with a track record of sound judgment and technical evaluation.
