Position Summary

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for providing overall direction and leadership and is responsible for project outcome on significantly complex construction projects which are typically at least $ 50 million or larger. Implements and manages the operation and administration of construction management, negotiated, and design / build projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the performance and assist in training Project Management staff and / or Team Leaders, with the job site superintendent.
  • Recruit superintendent’s field engineers, job site secretaries, and Project Engineers.
  • Meet or exceed profit projections for each project.
  • Help oversee others in developing preconstruction estimates for projects.
  • Help lead preconstruction with client.
  • Outline work plan, establish operational priorities and assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
  • Prepare estimates and notify Manager of any discrepancies.
  • Help negotiate issues during the course of the project including change orders, contingency expenditures, and appropriate fee enhancements.
  • Award subcontracts and help assign personnel on bid projects.
  • Develop new business opportunities.
  • Assist marketing team with related presentations.
  • Supervise completion of punch list and follow up all warranty work.
  • Develop and maintain long term relationships with customers.

Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s Degree, with preference for Construction Science or Engineering based field

· Minimum 9 years commercial construction management experience as a seller/doer, 3-5 in team leadership role.

· Must have strong organizational, communication and leadership skills.
