My client is an innovative design-build and tenant improvement partner, who works with diverse companies across every sector to create extraordinary spaces. Their growth is prompting our search for a Superintendent who may be based in Orange County or Los Angeles.
What you can expect:
The Superintendent reports to the General Superintendent and is responsible for facilitating support for all necessary construction projects, activities, and services, ensuring adherence to timelines on project schedules and adherence to project budget. The ideal candidate will be a hardworking, dependable team player, who naturally takes the initiative, has strong communication skills, and is confident in interacting with clients and colleagues.
The Superintendent:
- Actively participates in project kick off meetings and plans/prepares two weeks in advance of project mobilization by working closely with the entire Project team including Design during a Design Build project
- Actively participates in OAC meetings weekly and provides a comprehensive status update to ensure confidence with property owner that the project is being executed with a high level of quality and on schedule.
- Creates construction schedules, performs regular updates, monitors logic relationships, and inserts new activities and impacts
- Manages project scheduling, coordination, field commitments and records, reports, and documentation on a daily basis and logs information and photos into the Procore system
- Coordinates jobsite logistics and maintains relationships with neighboring occupants
- Negotiates with authorities having jurisdiction to achieve project-occupancy milestones
- Leads injury-free environment safety program, utilizing Casco’s Project Safety requirements
- Collaborates with Safety Manager and Project Manager to ensure compliance with all required safety, regulatory, environmental, and company programs
- Coordinates subcontractor work scopes, scheduling, and resource-loading, in conjunction with self-perform work crews
- Ensures project quality and assurance to meet construction plans, specifications, codes, shop drawings, terms of contract, schedule commitments, submittals, goals, and objectives
- Creates, and maintains all Punch walk. (Pre-Walk closeout Punch List, Pre-Final Punch list, and Final Punch List)
- Project field communications, meetings, and coordination
- Project costs vs. budget on all general conditions, clean-up, and all cost-plus items
- Open communication with the COO, Director of Field Operations, General Superintendent, and Project Manager
- Manages, trains, and mentors assistant Superintendents
- Fosters the development of foremen, in effort to aid advancement towards superintendent placement
- Represents the field operations team with regular interface with subcontractors, owners, construction management, and building engineers
- Collaborates with Sr. Superintendent and General Superintendent to manage trade coordination to meet project requirements
- Monitors inventory, procures supplies and equipment, and manages expenditures to stay within budget
- Assists Sr. Superintendents with quality control on all work performed by subcontractors and self-performing crews
- Oversees field personnel and ensures that all equipment is properly maintained
The ideal Superintendent will have:
- The ability to exhibit leadership skills on projects and direct all aspects of construction
- A willingness to extend knowledge to company staff and mentees
- Be adept at construction methods, techniques, and print reading
- Be proficient at Bar Chart Scheduling
- Be adept at Critical Path (CPM) scheduling and sequencing trades, to facilitate project efficiency
- Be knowledgeable about Uniform Building Code, to promote safety and to provide standardized requirements for safe construction
- A willingness to attend continued education and training for current construction practices
- Excellent communication skills with field operations team and clients, including email, phone calls and written communications
- Be able to maintain a clean and organized job site and path-of-travel
- Adherence to all company policies regarding written approval from owner regarding additional Subcontractor work
- The ability to listen and to maintain a high degree of professionalism
- Capacity to multitask in a fast-paced work environment
- A strong work ethic
- Be punctual and reliable.
- 2 to 5 years of related experience
- The ability to handle Tenant Improvement projects of up to $5M
- A valid CA driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Certification in First Aid and CPR
- OSHA 30 certification (company will also provide if necessary)

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $90,000 – $120,000 annually. Full time positions will be eligible for a full healthcare benefit package after 60 days of employment and a safe harbor company 401k match starts after 90 days of employment. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training. Full-time is defined as regularly working 30+ hours per week.
