The Vice President of Business Development will lead client development efforts for a multifamily general contractor. This executive will be responsible for expanding relationships with developers, generating negotiated opportunities, leading the business development team, and partnering with operations and preconstruction to support the company’s continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company’s business development strategy for the multifamily construction market.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new ground-up multifamily construction opportunities.
- Build and strengthen relationships with developers, ownership groups, capital partners, and other key decision-makers.
- Lead, mentor, and develop an existing business development team while establishing goals, accountability, and performance expectations.
- Collaborate with executive leadership, estimating, preconstruction, and operations to position the company for successful pursuits.
- Represent the company at industry events, association meetings, and client functions to increase market visibility and strengthen relationships.
- Monitor market activity, identify emerging opportunities, and provide leadership with strategic market intelligence.
- Maintain an active pipeline of opportunities and provide accurate forecasting of prospective work.
- Support long-term growth initiatives, including expansion into new markets.
Qualifications
- Progressive business development leadership experience within commercial construction.
- Extensive experience selling ground-up multifamily construction projects, particularly large apartment communities.
- Established relationships with multifamily developers and ownership groups that can generate negotiated work.
- Experience leading or mentoring business development professionals.
- Strong executive presence with excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strategic mindset with a proven ability to create opportunities while remaining actively engaged in client development.
- Collaborative leadership style with the confidence to influence internal and external stakeholders.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability.

- Experience working for a commercial general contractor specializing in multifamily construction.
- Strong network within the Texas multifamily development market.
