The Assistant Director, Financial Aid (Operations) is responsible for assisting in the management and implementation of all aspects of the application, awarding, delivery, and reconciliation of Federal, State, Private and Institutional financial aid programs at WCC. This position is responsible for management of customer service and technical support of the Financial Aid Office and will be based on campus in the Department of Student and Academic Services. The ADFA will report to the Executive Director of Financial Aid. Additionally, this position has direct supervision over Financial Aid independent staff.

The new ADFA team member will join a dedicated and inspired learning community and capitalize on the momentum of WCC’s president, Dr. Rose B. Bellanca, and her strong leadership team, guided by WCC’s strategic mission, values, and vision. The ADFA will collaborate with an outstanding team who has tremendous bench strength in all areas of financial aid support and programming.

Position Highlights:
  • WCC Financial Overview: General Fund Budget of $129 million, net assets of $64 million; total assets of $233 million; and an endowment (held with the Washtenaw Community College Foundation) of $29 million.

Key Requirements for the Position:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related area.
  • Minimum three (3) years of progressive work experience in Financial Aid.
  • Equivalent of two (2) years (minimum) supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with Ellucian Banner or other student information systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of all Federal and State financial aid regulations.
