Fellowship programs: Launched Pediatric Hospital Medicine and Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship programs and filled 2 positions in each program in our second match. -
The Dayton Children’s Hospital Center for Health Equity , launched in July 2021, has opened 8 research studies, and submitted its first NIH grant proposal. -

The Department consists of 44 fully affiliated faculty and over 250 subspecialty pediatricians with clinical appointments. The Department is organized in several divisions, e.g., endocrinology, gastroenterology, cardiology, and general pediatrics. -
The Chair of Pediatrics and Vice President for Academic Affairs will support Boonshoft School of Medicine and Dayton Children’s professionals in raising their national profiles through medical education, research, national organization contributions, and advocacy.
Professional Qualifications:
Required Education/Certifications/Licensure
-
MD or DO degree -
Ohio medical license or eligibility for Ohio medical license -
Current board certification by the American Board of Pediatrics -
Qualified for faculty appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or higher.
Required Professional Qualifications/Experience
-
Leadership experience as a chair, vice chair, program director, division chief, or director in an academic pediatric setting -
Current experience as an actively practicing pediatrician in an academic medical center.
Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, public administration, medical management, or equivalent degree -
Qualified for faculty appointment at the rank of Professor -
A distinguished record of clinical care, teaching, and scholarship with national stature -
Experience in leading educational programs -
Track record of leading a diverse body of faculty, staff, and learners -
Demonstrated fiscal responsibility -
Collaborative leadership skills and ability to relate well within the department and the community -
Experience in recruiting, retaining, mentoring, and developing highly qualified faculty, staff, and residents -
Experience in or a willingness to learn philanthropy pertinent to an academic department.
