As a Carnegie top-tier research university , OSU is Oklahoma’s land-grant institution and is recognized as one of the top 50 public universities in the U.S. and No. 1 in the state. -
Faculty Collaboration: The department is comprised of 18 Physicians; 40 Adjunct Faculty. -
Work Schedule: Roughly 60% admin, 20% clinical, 20% education/research. -
Call Schedule: Attending providers provide backup call once every four weeks for OSU Medicine resident clinic, call services could change for the inpatient mental health hospital in the future. -
New Psychiatric Hospital will have 106 beds. -
Patient Caseload: Exams & procedures are interchangeable in the department Behavioral Health: 8,244 Addiction: 5,651

Specialty Services include: Addiction: 29% (6 Providers) Adult Psychiatry: 24% (5 Attending Providers) (8 PGY3 Residents) (5 PGY4 Residents) Child Psychiatry: 19% (4 Attending Providers) Therapy: 14% (3 Providers) Testing: 14% (3 Providers)

NIH Grants and Research Opportunities across: Integrated Care platforms, Collaborative Care, Child Psychiatry Access Programs, Virtual Care etc. Addiction medicine, medically assisted treatment care delivery. Research on Trauma and Adversity and the great work of CIRCA. -
Translational and basic science research: The department currently has 2 FTE research assistants. -
Training: Residents, fellows, and students are specialty trained across all ACGME-accredited clinical sites. -

Your Qualifications for the Position:

Required Education: An earned Medical Degree, D.O. or M.D. degree, and Board Certification in Psychiatry. -
Experience: At least five (5) years of experience in medical school teaching and leadership or equivalent, preferably in a Vice Chair or Chair role. -
Administrative skills, decision making and supervisory ability. -
Licensed to practice psychiatry in Oklahoma prior to the start of appointment. -
Preferred: Experience in a state system of medical education. -
Possess a demonstrated commitment to innovation and quality improvement pursuits. -
Have leadership experience and be willing to further develop one’s leadership abilities. -
A combination of education, training, certification, and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis for comparability to the minimum education and experience requirements.
