Sutter Health, a Forbes Best Employer, is a supportive organization and is seeking a Family Medicine physician educator (MD or DO) to contribute to the growth and development of the Crescent City Rural Training Track at Sutter Coast Hospital and Sutter Coast Community Clinic in Crescent City, CA.
The new Rural Training Track at Sutter Coast Hospital has partnered with one of the oldest Family Medicine residencies in the country for an urban site, Sutter Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency, to continue building and training full spectrum family physicians in the highly competitive Northern California region, with the goal of expanding access to quality care in rural areas.
Sutter Health invites nominations and applications for the full-time position of Program Director, Family Medicine Residency RTT at Sutter Coast Hospital. This position will support and amplify Sutter’s longstanding commitment to GME by positioning Sutter Crescent City Rural Training Track/Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency as the premier rural training program in Northern California. The first two resident physicians are expected to begin their residency in 2025, with a total of six physician residents in the rural residency program every year by 2027 (four in Crescent City and two in Santa Rosa). This position is focused on addressing the critical physician shortage and health equity needs through supporting the expansion of Sutter’s GME program, which is projected to train more than 18,000 residents over the next 20 years.
