ROLE DESCRIPTION


Position Title: Regional Operations Project Executive/Operations Vice President


Position Purpose

The Regional Operations Vice President/Project Executive provides leadership and oversight of day-to-day operations for all construction project management and administration associated with multiple projects in Southern Nevada across various market sectors. This role develops, oversees, and maintains existing and new client relations. The Regional Operations Project Executive is responsible for the financial management, scheduling, and staff development aspects of all the assigned projects. The role also assists with the development of policies and procedures to achieve established business goals in support of the company mission and vision statements.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead business development efforts in the Southern Nevada market sector.
  • Responsible for all aspects (i.e., financial, schedule, staff development, etc.) of the projects assigned
  • Work directly with the general contracting superintendents to ensure project success
  • Engage and maintain the relationship with the client from preconstruction through completion of the project and future work
  • Visit each job site and attend team meetings as required to have a working knowledge of the current project status and issues
  • Ongoing development and maintenance of quality relationships with owners, subcontractors, and A/E firms
  • Attend owner meetings periodically
  • Promote excellence at all levels
  • Responsible for developing and creating future leaders
  • Responsible for resolving all project conflicts
  • Manage proposal efforts for RFPs with support from other departments
  • Manage preconstruction efforts with support from other departments
  • Responsible for developing the schedule plan for the project
  • Review & negotiate owner contracts alongside VP of risk management
  • Responsible for monthly cost projection
  • Responsible for weekly project labor reports
  • Responsible for all project purchase orders & subcontract agreements
  • Participate in monthly business development meetings
  • Participate in monthly operations meetings
  • Participate in project planning sessions
  • Assist in recruiting & hiring efforts


Supervisory Requirements:

  • Supervise, train, and develop direct reports (Project Engineer Interns, Project Engineers, and Senior Project Engineers) while prioritizing and delegating responsibilities to others
  • Responsible for performance evaluation, salary adjustments, bonus allocations, and policies for staff assigned
  • Liaise with Project Superintendents and field personnel


Interactions:

  • Interact and report work status with the Santa Monica Leadership Team.
  • Interact and communicate with project team members including peers and supervisors, as well as other internal Business Partner teams
  • Interact and communicate with external third parties including clients, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and others
  • Develop relationships that foster the potential for future new and repeat business opportunities


Requirements

Education/Training:

  • Four (4) year bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field of study or equivalent combination of study and experience


Experience Required:

  • Minimum fifteen (15) years combined progressive experience in a Project Engineer and Project Manager level role

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Intermittent walking to gain access to work areas

  • Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals by telephone and in person

Work Environment:

  • Office or job site (i.e., trailer) setting with moderate noise levels in a temperature-controlled environment
  • May include shared office space and temporary provisions including portable toilets as required by project constraints
