Job Title: Assistant Project Manager
Location: Los Angeles, CA

Our client is a prominent National Real Estate Developer/Builder is looking to hire an Assistant Project Manager in Los Angeles, CA to join their team. The Assistant Project Manager role combines elements of a Project Engineer and incorporates people and cost management. Working closely with the Project Manager, you will ensure the timely, high-quality, and successful completion of projects on a daily basis. You may be responsible for a significant segment of a project and may oversee Engineers/Interns reporting to you. This position serves as a steppingstone for developing managerial and communication skills in employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Project Manager in establishing the project chart of accounts, updating the CPM construction schedule, developing subcontracts and purchase orders, and producing a responsibility listing for the project staff.
  • Provide administrative support to the Project Superintendent and offer leadership and training to the project staff and engineers.
  • Track, review, and process Change Proposal Requests, Change Orders, Owner Payment Applications, and, if applicable, claims.
  • Monitor job costs, maintain accurate reports, and assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in preparing quantity reports, analyzing labor costs, and completing quarterly profit project records.
  • Assist in establishing, maintaining, and leading the on-site Total Quality Management process.
  • Manage the preparation and execution of the Project closeout process.
  • Implement all relevant safety and EEO/affirmative action programs.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • 3-7 years of construction experience on relevant projects.
  • Experience with Type 3/Type 5 Multifamily projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction principles and practices is necessary.
  • Experience in managing field staff and building relationships with owners.
  • Strong work ethic and a desire to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of maintaining jobsite safety excellence.
