Position Overview

As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine (COM) is part of the Tri-State region’s only academic medical center, with $162 million in research grants and contracts holdings and 2,703 faculty, physicians, and advance practice providers in 89 specialties generating 2.2 million total visits annually, making it indispensable in education, research, and patient care. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking a dynamic and experienced full-time Reproductive Endocrinologist to serve as the Division Director of REI. Since 1988, the Center for Reproductive Health remains the only comprehensive patient care and research center focused on fertility in the Greater Cincinnati region.

Mission of the Division Director of REI
  • Clinical Work/Clinical teaching.
  • Divisional Leadership.
  • Oversight, supervision, and development of Physicians and APPs.
  • Operational and Financial responsibilities.
  • Direction of clinical and laboratory services.
  • Strategic planning, development, and growth.
  • Partnerships to enhance and grow practice, including joint venture opportunities.
  • Working alongside some of the brightest minds in REI, including former ASRM president Dr. Michael Thomas.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the REI Division while participating in departmental and system initiatives.
  • Provide individualized, compassionate care to patients undergoing fertility treatments.
  • Perform advanced reproductive procedures, including ultrasound, IVF, IUI, egg retrievals, and embryo transfers.
  • Collaborate with a skilled team of embryologists, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Stay current with advancements in reproductive medicine to offer state-of-the-art treatment options.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with referring physicians and the community.
  • Proficient in REI-related surgeries with privileging eligibility.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Medical Degree (MD or DO).
  • Successful completion of a board-certified Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program and formal Fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI).
  • Ohio medical license upon date of hire.
  • Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility is required.
  • Academic background and experience that would qualify applicant for academic rank of Associate Professor or Professor.
  • Eligible for unrestricted Medical Staff Privileges at UC Health.
FY25 Successes in REI
  • Significant improvement in pregnancy rates with laboratory updates (approximately 48%).
  • Written and oral presentations at multiple national conferences.
  • Perfect board pass rates (100% both qualifying / certifying exam) over past three years.
  • UC Fellow is the recipient of the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society Scholarship.
  • UC Fellow served as Board Member for the Midwest Reproductive Symposium.
  • UC Fellow selected as member of the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Landmark Articles Committee.
  • Updated protocols permitting UC Fellows to participate in moonlighting.
  • Maintaining active research with CCTN and GOG memberships.
  • Improved access to care with ability to perform oocyte retrievals in the OR for pediatric patients 13 years of age and older.
