Director of Operations
The Director of Operations serves as the on-site administrator responsible for the management of operational effectiveness and adherence to accreditation standards, while supporting program leadership to ensure the overall quality of curricular offerings.
This role ensures the campus operates efficiently, complies with institutional policies and accreditor requirements (ABHES, IBHE, DOE), and creates an atmosphere where students are empowered to succeed. The Director of Operations leads campus-wide student success and retention initiatives and partners closely with program leadership — including the Director of Nursing and other academic and administrative leaders — to strengthen student outcomes, support curricular quality from an operational perspective, and maintain a culture of belonging and professionalism.
The Director of Operations is regularly engaged in the daily management of the campus, advancing initiatives that promote exceptional service to students, effective collaboration across departments, and a culture of compliance, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Reporting
This position will report and work directly under the supervision of the CEO and President.
Campus Operations & Leadership
- Serve as the on-site administrator engaged in the daily management of campus operations.
- Ensure operational effectiveness across academic, student records and registration operations, student services, student conduct, and compliance functions.
- Oversee student records and registration operations to ensure timely and compliant execution of withdrawals, re-entries, registration, class scheduling, and maintenance of academic records.
- Implement institutional policies and procedures in alignment with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation to support consistency and accountability, such as handbooks, departmental guides, workflows, and checklists.
Student Success, Retention & Conduct
- Lead campus-wide initiatives that strengthen student persistence, retention, and program completion.
- Foster a culture of belonging where students feel supported, respected, and connected to the campus community.
- Supervise and direct the Student Success and Retention staff, ensuring students receive coordinated academic and personal support to achieve their goals.
- Collaborate with advisors, faculty, and other departments to identify at-risk students early and implement proactive intervention strategies.
- Serve as the primary campus leader for student behavior and discipline.
- Address behavioral and professionalism concerns promptly and appropriately, ensuring proper documentation.
- Implement and enforce student conduct policies consistently, fairly, and in alignment with institutional standards.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to document incidents, monitor repeat behaviors, and escalate disciplinary matters as needed.
- Promote a culture of professionalism, respect, and accountability among students.
Faculty & Staff Success
- Work in close collaboration with program leadership (e.g., Director of Nursing and other academic leaders) to support the quality of curricular offerings from an operational standpoint.
- Ensure academic leadership and faculty have the resources, systems, and operational support necessary for effective teaching and student learning.
- Support campus-level HR processes such as discipline documentation, professionalism standards, and corrective action procedures in partnership with executive leadership.
- Encourage cross-departmental collaboration, professional growth, and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Supervise support staff performance, including evaluations, coaching, and professional development.
- Work collaboratively with the Programs Director/Academic leadership and contribute to faculty evaluations.
- Coordinate annual professional development activities for faculty, staff, and administrators to strengthen operational effectiveness and compliance, while also engaging personally in professional development relevant to higher education operations
- Encourage a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Compliance & Accreditation
- Ensure campus compliance with all accrediting, state, and federal regulations (e.g., ABHES, IBHE, DOE, Title IX, FERPA).
- Serve as the campus Title IV Coordinator, maintaining accountability for regulatory and reporting requirements.
- Partner with the Compliance Department to prepare for and support audits, program reviews, reports, and site visits.
- Maintain policies and procedures that uphold institutional integrity, ethical practices, and student rights.
Community Engagement
- Represent the campus in community events, employer partnerships, and industry forums to expand opportunities for students.
- Build relationships with clinical partners and local organizations to enhance student learning and placement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain partnerships that expand student learning, placement opportunities, and strengthen the institution’s presence in the community.
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree or higher in Education Administration, Business Administration, or a related field (Doctorate preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in higher education operations or campus administration.
- Demonstrated knowledge of accreditation standards, compliance requirements, and best practices in higher education.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven track record of strategic planning, operational leadership, and process improvement.
- Ability to develop and maintain documentation (e.g., handbooks, guides, workflows, checklists) that strengthens consistency and compliance.
