Quality of Life in New England – Community Highlights:

Centrally located, Worcester is just miles from Boston, Providence, and Cape Cod with a short ride to the scenic Berkshire Mountains. The diverse city of Worcester has (9) colleges and universities including UMass Medical School that overlooks the beautiful panoramic views of Lake Quinsigamond. As the second-largest city in New England, it has powered a rise of booming technology, research, manufacturing, and healthcare industries. Although housing costs in and around Worcester are much more affordable compared to the immediate metro-Boston areas, the drive from Worcester to downtown Boston is less than 45 minutes on nights and weekends. Alternatively, many faculty live halfway between Boston and Worcester and benefit from a “traffic free” reverse commute.

Also, as a resident, you will enjoy many recreational activities including hiking, biking, skiing, and snowboarding or take an easy day trip to the mountains and pristine lakes of Maine, New Hampshire, or Vermont. The city has an outstanding arts & culture scene, and an exciting food district.
