Position Summary

Support the preparation of accurate, competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects

Collaborate with preconstruction and project teams to develop budgets, analyze scope, and support proposal strategy

Contribute throughout all phases of the estimating and bidding process with precision and accountability
Key Responsibilities

Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications

Prepare conceptual, schematic, and detailed project estimates
-
Develop project budgets and pricing support for proposals and negotiated work
-
Analyze scope documents for gaps, risk, and cost impacts
-
Coordinate subcontractor and supplier outreach during bid phases
-
Receive, review, and level subcontractor bids for accuracy and completeness
-
Apply construction methods, sequencing, and market pricing to estimates
-
Maintain organized estimating files and digital project data
-
Participate in pre-bid meetings, design coordination meetings, and scope reviews
-
Communicate clearly with operations, leadership, and external partners
-
Provide timely estimate updates and cost reporting to project stakeholders

Support training and development of junior estimating staff

Assist in refining estimating processes, standards, and procedures
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field

Previous experience estimating vertical construction projects across multiple market sectors

Proficiency with construction takeoff and estimating software
-
Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and pricing
-
Established relationships with subcontractors and suppliers preferred
-
High level of attention to detail and organization

Strong written and verbal communication skills
-
Prior superintendent or project management experience is a plus
