About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to support OSHPD-1 healthcare construction projects by preparing accurate cost estimates from conceptual design through GMP and hard-bid phases. This role plays a critical part in preconstruction planning, cost analysis, and risk evaluation to ensure competitive, compliant, and financially sound project delivery.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed conceptual, schematic, design development, and final construction cost estimates for OSHPD-1 projects.

  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to develop accurate quantity takeoffs.

  • Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and vendor bids.

  • Collaborate with preconstruction, project management, and operations teams to develop pricing strategies and project budgets.

  • Identify cost risks, value engineering opportunities, and scope gaps early in the preconstruction process.

  • Develop GMP and hard-bid estimates in accordance with public works and OSHPD-1 requirements.

  • Maintain historical cost data and benchmarking for healthcare construction projects.

  • Participate in client presentations, design reviews, and pre-bid meetings as needed.

  • Ensure all estimates comply with OSHPD-1 regulations, building codes, and project requirements.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience on OSHPD-1 or healthcare construction projects.

  • Strong understanding of healthcare construction systems, materials, and regulatory requirements.

  • Proven experience with quantity takeoffs, subcontractor buyout, and cost analysis.

  • Proficiency with estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, OST, Excel, Procore).

  • Familiarity with public works procurement and hard-bid delivery methods.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
