The Division of Hematology and Oncology of the Department of Internal Medicine at a top-ranked university in collaboration with its Cancer Center is undergoing a major expansion and is seeking faculty candidates at the Assistant, Associate or full Professor level across multiple disease focused areas, including a seasoned BMT/Stem Cell and Cellular Transplantation Physician to lead the Department into the next phase of growth. The position(s) is open to physicians with an interest in active clinical practice together with pursuit of laboratory, outcomes, integrative medicine, survivorship, or clinical trial focused research. Exceptional clinicians with interest in clinical trial accrual and education of fellows and residents are also encouraged to apply.

Leadership roles in the Division, Department, and Cancer Center are also available for qualified individuals.

Area of interest include, but are not limited to:
  • Multiple myeloma
  • Lymphoma
  • Myelodysplastic syndrome and Myeloproliferative disorders
  • Stem cell and cellular transplantation (hematologic and solid tumor focus)

The Division of Hematology and Oncology supports the Academic Medical Center, the Cancer Center, a VA Medical Center, and multiple hospital locations across the region. In collaboration with affiliated hospitals, the Division has over $35 million of NCI funding. The Division comprises a BMT cellular transplant program, a robust experimental therapeutics program including membership in the NCI Early Clinical Trials Network, a dedicated Phase 1 unit, and GMP facility for production of cellular based therapies. Ten divisional research labs provide venues for translational research studies that are enhanced by 13 additional research labs in the Department of Cancer Biology. In this regard, robust basic and translational focus exists for breast, thoracic, head and neck, lymphoma, leukemia, and drug development. Faculty have access to robust core services supported by both the University and a top pediatric hospital in the U.S. In addition, the physical location of faculty within the Division of Hematology and Oncology puts researchers in close proximity to its schools of pharmacy, engineering, etc. that facilitates incredible collaborative research.

Candidate Qualifications:
  • MD or DO with Board eligibility or Board certification in Hematology or Medical Oncology.
  • Applicants should demonstrate commitment to teaching and research.
  • Highly qualified J1 visa applicants may be considered.
