Job Title: General Manager

A well-established commercial construction firm in Texas is seeking a General Manager to lead and expand its operations in the Austin market. The ideal candidate is a strategic, relationship-driven leader with deep industry experience and a strong local network. This role is responsible for building a local team, ensuring high-quality project delivery, and cultivating long-term client and partner relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Austin office, ensuring full alignment with company standards, culture, and operational goals.

  • Develop and execute a market growth strategy to establish the firm as a trusted construction partner in Central Texas.

  • Foster and maintain relationships with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and community stakeholders.

  • Manage all phases of construction projects, from preconstruction to closeout, with a focus on safety, quality, and budget control.

  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing, values-driven local team.

  • Serve as a strategic liaison between the Austin office and executive leadership to drive consistency, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related discipline.

  • At least 10 years of experience in commercial construction, including 5+ years in a leadership or general management role.

  • Demonstrated success in managing complex construction projects and leading teams.

  • In-depth knowledge of the Austin commercial construction market and key industry relationships.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.

  • Experience with preconstruction services, design/build projects, and construction management delivery methods.

  • Proven ability to deliver client-centered solutions and build long-term business relationships.
