We are a supportive, physician-led organization with extensive resources and are seeking a dynamic and visionary, board-certified Internal Medicine physician educator to contribute to the development of the inaugural Internal Medicine Residency Program at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, New Hampshire.
The Internal Medicine Residency Program Director provides comprehensive leadership, oversight, and administration for an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency program (21 residents). This leadership position combines clinical excellence with educational innovation to develop the next generation of internists in a dynamic, collaborative environment. The Program Director will support and amplify our longstanding commitment to Graduate Medical Education (GME) by positioning the Internal Medicine Residency as a premier training program in New Hampshire and beyond. St. Joseph Hospital continues to build and train in the highly competitive New England region, with the goal of retaining providers, expanding access to quality care in rural areas and establishing St. Joseph as a major teaching hospital.

Job Requirements
Education & Certification
-
Medical degree from an LCME or AOA COCA-accredited institution -
Current board certification in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM) -
Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency program -
Faculty appointment at affiliated medical school available, commensurate with experience
Experience Requirements

Minimum 3-5 years of experience as active faculty member in an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency program -
Minimum 3 years of documented educational and/or administrative experience following residency completion -
Ongoing clinical practice requirement in Internal Medicine throughout tenure -
Previous experience in curriculum development, resident mentoring, and quality improvement preferred
Time Commitment & Administrative Support
Dedicated Effort

Minimum 50% FTE dedication (at least 20 hours per week) to administrative and educational activities -
Maximum 50% clinical role balance including supervision of resident continuity clinics -
Available and accessible to residents at primary teaching site(s)
