Job Title: Preconstruction Engineer (Structural Concrete)
Location: San Francisco, CA
In this role, you will be at the forefront, collaborating closely with one of the company’s executives in pre-construction to oversee all aspects of concrete building projects in California. In this dynamic duo, you will share responsibilities for projects with a total construction cost exceeding $8 billion. The structural concrete segment of this portfolio would be approximately $2 billion over the next eight to ten years. This group is uniquely positioned for success, boasting substantial financial resources and continuing to acquire and build.
Responsibilities:
- Review engineering calculations by the design engineer.
- Identify and resolve design conflicts and missing information by preparing, tracking, submitting, and distributing preconstruction Requests for Information (RFI’s).
- Assist in performing life cycle cost analysis of systems and options to generate desirable outcomes for potential clients.
- Assist with generating budget estimates along with scope definition from incomplete design information.
- Demonstrated expertise in construction materials and methods, building codes and regulations, and project safety protocols.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Requirements:
- Experience with structural concrete
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, architectural engineering, construction science or relevant subjects.
- 4+ years of relevant construction experience.
