Rapid Product Growth. Unique Intrapreneurial Culture.
A Boston area Medical Device company is growing rapidly and adding a new position to their strategic marketing team. This person will own upstream marketing for a portfolio of innovative capital equipment products used in surgical cases. This is a small, nimble intrapreneurial medical device team in a large publicly traded company that are the global leaders and renowned experts in their state-of-the-art technology.
The medical device team is building strategy and process from early stage for this high-growth portfolio of products. Their products treat conditions in multiple therapeutic areas, including widespread conditions with significant unmet needs. The culture is a “best of both worlds” setup: a nimble workstyle with a small marketing team creates a startup like culture, and you’ll have the stability, resources and support of a large, established global company.
Responsibilities:
The Product Manager will own upstream marketing and pipeline planning for a portfolio of innovative surgical capital equipment products with both hardware and software elements. You’ll focus on new product development including gathering Voice of Customer, defining needs, building business cases, forecasting and financial modeling. You’ll also own competitive intelligence, create go-to-market strategies and will partner closely with your downstream counterparts. Their engineering and R&D team sits onsite at the Boston area location, so you will work closely with them as you evaluate new product developments.
We need someone strong at developing strategy, including gathering VOC, KOL engagement and creating design requirements. You’ll bring your expertise with both hardware and software VOC as you write requirements and develop new products to meet unmet customer and patient needs. You’ll also understand the competitive environment, develop value propositions and set go-to-market strategy as you move to launch. You’ll create roadmaps, develop segmentation and define branding/messaging/positioning. As a key member of the marketing team, you will serve as the leader on cross-functional team made up of colleagues from engineering, R&D, Medical Affairs, and Regulatory Affairs, among others.
This company has decades of commercial success and growth, and you will contribute to their high-visibility med device growth and success. The size of the team is expected to double in the next couple of years, so this is an ideal, early opportunity to join. You’re a great fit for this position if you’re a self-starter, solutions-oriented and have strong communication and team player skills. Executive presentation skills, customer-facing skills and the ability to work effectively in a high-energy environment will be critical to success in this role.
Qualifications:
