Job Title: Project Manager (Concrete)
Location: San Francisco, CA

We offer an exciting job opportunity for a Project Manager with a proven track record of handling diverse clients and projects valued at $10M+ in the San Francisco Bay area. Previous experience managing and mentoring Project Engineers/Assistant Project Managers is a plus.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

  • Represent and engage with the project owner to achieve the desired project outcomes within a competitive budget, adhering to the schedule, and maintaining the desired quality.
  • Collaborate with the Architect, Contractor, and other members of the project team to meet project objectives and effectively resolve issues at every stage of the project.
  • Attend meetings with the owner, architect, and contractor, diligently documenting meeting notes and overseeing follow-up action items.
  • Thoroughly review project construction documents, shop drawings, and submittals, and gain a deep understanding of the owners’ and architects’ intentions and requirements.
  • Develop, manage, and analyze the project schedule, outlining the design, permitting, approvals, construction, and fit-up phases.
  • Assist in preparing project estimates or supporting our in-house estimator by gathering budget and cost-related information for different project components.
  • Manage and oversee procedures for handling changes to contract documents, monthly valuations, drawing submissions, change orders, requests for information (RFIs), substitutions, etc.
  • Contribute to safety, quality, and logistics site analysis.
  • Participate in value engineering sessions to help optimize the design and reduce project costs.
  • Take on staff management responsibilities, which may include overseeing an Assistant Project Manager/small Project Management team, resource management, and recruitment.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience with a reputable general contractor, consulting construction management, or development firm.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and MS Project.
  • Ideally, experience with ground-up construction in commercial real estate, and a significant advantage if you have worked on projects involving hospitals, labs, or other complex structures.
  • Prior experience working on projects in the US, with particular preference for project experience in California, especially in the SF Bay Area.
