The Program Director (MD or DO) will contribute to the development of and lead our ACGME-approved Neurology residency program at Sutter Roseville Medical Center (SRMC) with Sutter Medical Group in Roseville, CA. Candidates currently serving as core faculty in an ACGME-accredited neurology residency or related fellowship are highly encouraged to apply. This is a terrific opportunity for an ambitious current APD or PD to construct a brand-new program.

Our Neuroscience Institutes, in both the Bay Area and Sacramento/Central Valley, are leaders in advanced neurological care in Northern California. In fact, Sutter Roseville is designated by the Joint Commission as a Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center. The Program Director will have access to clinical trials and multidisciplinary team collaboration across nationally recognized stroke and epilepsy programs; and Patient-centric and active, well respected Neuroscience inpatient service at Sutter Roseville.

The new Neurology Residency program at Sutter Roseville Medical Center will continue building and training full spectrum neurologists in the highly competitive Northern California region, with the goal of expanding access to quality care in rural areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Program Director of the Neurology Residency Program has the responsibility, authority, and accountability for administration and operations; teaching and scholarly activity; resident recruitment and selection, evaluation, and promotion of residents, and disciplinary action; supervision of residents; and resident education in the context of patient care. The Program Director is responsible for the standards, quality, reputation, and ongoing improvement of the Neurology Residency Program.

This residency will be a mixture of inpatient and outpatient practice, with an inpatient call-schedule to be determined. The Neurology Residency Program Director will divide their time between one’s own clinical practice and the programmatic responsibilities of the Neurology Residency Program at SRMC.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must have an MD, DO, or equivalent. Necessary qualifications include board certification or eligibility (ABPN or AOBNP), eligibility for a California medical license, and suitable clinical and teaching experience.
