Job Title: Safety Manager
Location: San Francisco, CA

Position Description:

Partner with Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and project teams to enforce site compliance with company, EH&S programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead implementation of the Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project sites
  • Guide project teams in developing site-specific electrical safety plans and activities
  • Conduct safety orientations, electrical training, and train-the-trainer sessions
  • Review safety submittals and participate in preconstruction and subcontractor meetings
  • Mentor and manage Safety Engineers and Coordinators, including performance evaluations
  • Oversee safety data tracking, injury/hazard analysis, and OSHA reporting
  • Conduct safety audits and assist with major incident investigations
  • Monitor subcontractor safety practices and ensure compliance
  • Manage Return to Work and Modified Duty programs
  • Collaborate with Risk Management and client safety personnel
  • Review project work plans to ensure safety integration
  • Serve as a resource for electrical safety and industrial hygiene concerns
  • Ensure maintenance and inspection of safety equipment
  • Support safety performance goals and metrics for the operating group
  • Represent the company in interactions with unions, industry groups, and regulatory agencies

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 years of construction safety experience.
  • CSP certification preferred.
  • Highly organized with multitasking ability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety software.
  • Strong customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate policies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and public speaking skills.
  • Willingness to travel and possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Bachelor’s in Safety or related field (or equivalent experience with CHST, OSHA 500, and 10 years in construction, including 6 years in safety management).
