Job Title: Safety Manager
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Position Description:
Partner with Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and project teams to enforce site compliance with company, EH&S programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:
- Lead implementation of the Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project sites
- Guide project teams in developing site-specific electrical safety plans and activities
- Conduct safety orientations, electrical training, and train-the-trainer sessions
- Review safety submittals and participate in preconstruction and subcontractor meetings
- Mentor and manage Safety Engineers and Coordinators, including performance evaluations
- Oversee safety data tracking, injury/hazard analysis, and OSHA reporting
- Conduct safety audits and assist with major incident investigations
- Monitor subcontractor safety practices and ensure compliance
- Manage Return to Work and Modified Duty programs
- Collaborate with Risk Management and client safety personnel
- Review project work plans to ensure safety integration
- Serve as a resource for electrical safety and industrial hygiene concerns
- Ensure maintenance and inspection of safety equipment
- Support safety performance goals and metrics for the operating group
- Represent the company in interactions with unions, industry groups, and regulatory agencies
Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 years of construction safety experience.
- CSP certification preferred.
- Highly organized with multitasking ability.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety software.
- Strong customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and communicate policies.
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and public speaking skills.
- Willingness to travel and possess a valid driver’s license.
- Bachelor’s in Safety or related field (or equivalent experience with CHST, OSHA 500, and 10 years in construction, including 6 years in safety management).
