Job Title: Senior Construction Manager
Location: San Diego, CA

The Senior Project Manager position includes regular travel to project sites.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage all facets of multiple, concurrent commercial construction projects from inception through to the completion of construction.
  • Interface with clients and brokers on new project requirements.
  • Assist in the review of Leases and Work Letters as it pertains to construction-related items.
  • Day-to-day involvement in directly managing multiple ongoing complex construction projects.
  • Manage up to two internal project managers/project engineers in support of ongoing projects.
  • Develop initial project budgets and schedules for multiple types of projects of different sizes and complexity.
  • Manage project progress against approved budgets, timelines and client-directed goals.
  • Assemble, manage, and coordinate project teams required to complete projects. This typically includes the entire design team, general contractor, furniture vendor and other client vendors.
  • Managing change orders, invoicing, tenant improvement allowance reimbursement, and project close-out processes.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience with Hardware Technology and Advanced Manufacturing related projects is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with tenant improvement projects is strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing people internally and externally.
  • Applicants should be highly proficient in Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Project.
  • Must be a self-starter and possess a strong ability to handle multiple projects at once and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to manage time effectively and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Able to establish and maintain a strong working relationship with client(s) and internal partners.

Qualifications

  • Must be a local candidate and will be based out of our beautiful Orange County office if selected.
  • This position involves a combination of in-office and onsite work.
  • The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in the construction industry. We are looking for candidates who have served in Construction Project Manager or Senior Project Manager type roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college required, preferably in a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, polished and a proud representative of the Hughes Marino brand.
  • Regular travel as required to support client projects.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project proficiency
