System Chief, Behavioral Health Service Line
TriHealth
Cincinnati, Ohio

TriHealth is proud of our 170-year history of keeping our community well and being better together. Serving as a large integrated, innovative health system, TriHealth was formed in 1995 as a partnership between Bethesda Hospital (founded in 1896) and Good Samaritan Hospital (founded in 1852) and has grown to encompass more than 130 sites of care throughout Greater Cincinnati with sites in Hamilton, Lebanon, and Oxford, Ohio, and in Brookville, Indiana. In addition to providing safe, reliable, high-quality care to one-in-three Greater Cincinnatians, TriHealth is the third largest employer in the region with 12,000+ diverse employees and consistently ranked among the Top Employers in the U.S. In fact, TriHealth has been recognized as a “Top 100 Integrated” Health System for more than a decade and designated a “Top 15 Health System” by Truven Health Analytics.

We are a supportive physician-led organization with extensive resources and are seeking a visionary leader to join our award-winning team during this exciting time as System Chief for the Behavioral Health Service Line at TriHealth. This individual will provide strategic direction and clinical expertise to ensure the highest quality of care for patients across all TriHealth facilities in Cincinnati, Ohio and beyond.

Behavioral Health and Psychiatry Residency Program at TriHealth
  • TriHealth takes patients’ behavioral health as seriously as their physical health while focusing on the treatment of the whole patient. We offer the spectrum of behavioral health services from treatment in primary care practices to patients who require inpatient treatment.
  • A $9 million, three-year bi3 investment supports TriHealth’s plans to expand the integration of behavioral health services into all pediatric and adult primary care locations, as well as introduce best-practice care models in other specialty areas, including obstetrics and oncology, throughout the system. This will ensure patients are receiving the necessary care for conditions ranging from anxiety to depression to suicidal thoughts.
  • The expansion of TriHealth’s cutting-edge integrated behavioral health consultant model of care made it among the first health systems in the nation to provide pediatric and adult patients with this comprehensive approach.
  • The TriHealth Hatton Research Institute supports Graduate Medical Education training programs’ research efforts.
  • TriHealth’s fully sponsored, ACGME-accredited Psychiatry Residency Program will help address the local and regional shortage of psychiatrists, creating a strong pipeline of the next generation of physicians who are more connected to our region and more likely to practice at TriHealth and in Greater Cincinnati.
  • The anticipated launch date for the Psychiatry Residency Program is expected to begin July 2027, and will accept a total of 24 residents.
  • The Psychiatry Residency Program will support access to high quality TriHealth psychiatrists to serve patients across a spectrum of care.
Position Highlights
  • Close working relationship with the TriHealth System Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
  • You’ll have a shared voice in physician-led, patient-focused medicine and experience the camaraderie and professionalism of progressive, like-minded physicians.

  • Provide Clinical Oversight of entire Behavioral Health Service Line.
  • Lead the Behavioral Health Service Line to achieve top-decile performance in safety, quality, service, and efficiency.
