The Vice President of Preconstruction will serve as a key executive leader responsible for strategy, team leadership, client engagement, and oversight of all preconstruction activities—from early-stage pursuit through project turnover.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy

Lead and mentor the preconstruction and estimating team, establishing best practices and scalable processes

Partner with executive leadership on business strategy, market expansion, and project selection

Drive continuous improvement in pricing accuracy, risk evaluation, and preconstruction execution
Preconstruction Oversight

Oversee all phases of preconstruction including budgeting, conceptual estimating, and GMP development

Ensure alignment between preconstruction, operations, and business development teams

Provide executive-level review of estimates, schedules, and project assumptions
Client & Business Development Interface

Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, developers, and design partners during early project phases

Support pursuit strategy, presentations, and proposal development

Strengthen long-term client relationships with a focus on repeat business
Technical & Operational Excellence

Guide feasibility studies, site selection input, and due diligence efforts

Ensure constructability, cost efficiency, and schedule feasibility are embedded early in project planning

Collaborate with in-house and external design teams to optimize project outcomes
Qualifications
-
12–20+ years of experience in commercial construction, with a strong emphasis in preconstruction or estimating
-
Proven leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams

Background in industrial, warehouse/distribution, manufacturing, or large-scale commercial projects preferred

Strong financial acumen with experience in conceptual estimating and GMP development

Demonstrated ability to build client relationships and contribute to business development efforts

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
