The Construction Project Scheduler will support project teams in developing, maintaining, and managing schedules throughout the full construction lifecycle. This position will work closely with operations, preconstruction, and field leadership to ensure schedules accurately reflect project strategy, current conditions, key milestones, and potential impacts. The ideal candidate combines hands-on construction knowledge with strong technical scheduling skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both field and office teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed construction schedules for projects from initial planning through completion.
  • Create and maintain preconstruction, procurement, baseline, progress, and recovery schedules.
  • Partner with project leadership to establish sequencing, durations, milestones, and critical path activities.
  • Regularly update schedules based on actual project progress, field conditions, procurement status, and changing project requirements.
  • Visit active jobsites to evaluate progress and confirm that project schedules accurately reflect work in place and anticipated sequencing.
  • Identify schedule risks, conflicts, delays, and potential impacts before they affect major project milestones.
  • Work with project teams to develop solutions for schedule challenges, including resequencing activities, alternate work approaches, and recovery plans.
  • Evaluate construction means and methods as they relate to schedule performance and project execution.
  • Facilitate schedule review and update meetings with project teams and key stakeholders.
  • Support preconstruction and project planning efforts by providing scheduling expertise during early project development.
  • Assist business development and preconstruction teams with proposal schedules, presentations, interviews, and pursuit planning as needed.
  • Participate in project performance reviews and lessons-learned discussions to improve future planning and scheduling practices.
  • Provide scheduling guidance and training to Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and other team members.
  • Help strengthen scheduling standards, processes, and capabilities across the organization.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of construction scheduling, project management, or closely related construction experience.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction sequencing, means and methods, activity durations, and project execution.
  • Working knowledge of Critical Path Method scheduling and the ability to identify activities that could affect project completion.
  • Experience developing and maintaining detailed construction schedules using scheduling or project management software.
  • Primavera P6 experience preferred; experience with Procore or comparable construction technology platforms is also valuable.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications, and other project documentation.
  • Ability to evaluate field progress and identify potential sequencing or scheduling concerns during site visits.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical solutions to schedule challenges.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with field teams, project leadership, preconstruction, and other stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
