Lou Stark

Lou Stark joined Kaye/Bassman after a very successful career in higher education. Prior to that he was an executive search consultant with a firm specializing in the higher education sector.

Lou has been in higher education his entire career and served in senior leadership roles for the last thirty. He has been at selective liberal arts colleges and highly selective private research universities. He retired from Case Western Reserve University in 2023 as Vice President for Student Affairs Emeritus.

Lou’s experience in working with a variety of senior leaders, mid managers and Boards of Trustees at different institutions gives him a unique and informed perspective in doing his search work. His focus is on culture and fit.

He received his B.S. in Psychology from Davis and Elkins College and his M.S.in Education, Counselor Education, with distinction, from Hofstra University. He has done additional study in Higher Education and received a Certificate in Management from Tulane University.

He is a member of national organizations and a current member of the Board of Trustees at Davis and Elkins College. He served on the NCAA Management  Council for D3 and has been an active community leader.

Lou and his wife Ann have two adult children, a granddaughter and enjoy time with their family. They also enjoy traveling.
