How you’ll make an impact in this role
Ascension Sacred Heart is looking for a BC/BE General Cardiologist for our clinic in Pace, Florida (Pensacola Metro Area). This is a great opportunity for someone looking to be embedded in a community clinic while covering some hospital call (1:6) for general cardiology services.
Position Highlights:
- Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospital with ACC Transcatheter Valve Accreditation

- Schedule: Full-Time; M-F (with occasional weekend rounding and 1:6 call)
- Practice setting: Mix of outpatient clinic and inpatient rounding
- Join an established, busy practice with an experienced team of 10 physicians and 14 APPs
- Collaborate with tenured colleagues to foster a highly efficient practice model
- Full scope of cardiovascular services offered, included structural heart and CVT Surgery (no transplant)
- Live and work on the beautiful Gulf Coast of Florida
- 566-bed Level I Trauma Center (Part of a robust clinical network with our sister facilities in Destin, Panama City, and Port St. Joe, FL)
- Community clinic with established patient population of approximately 500,000
- Integrated referral network (largest employed primary care network in NW FL)

Responsibilities:
- Provide medical services to patients in an assigned area.
- Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinate discharge planning with case management.
- Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
- Accept patient referrals from other physicians. Act as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
- Participate in academic programs (e.g., medical education and research) as requested.
- Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
- Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.
What minimum requirements you’ll need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Licensed Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Florida Board of Medicine obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Board eligibility/certification in medical specialty required.
- Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
